The Candy scheme lasted as the main livery till 1992 when replaced by the Freight Rail blue livery, although from 1988 a simplified version known as the red terror livery emerged from Cardiff workshops applied to 4469, this scheme omitted the yellow & orange stripes, thus reducing the amount of time required to paint the units, and was used mainly on non front line locomotives (44, 45, 48, 49 classes), other locos of the 422, 442, 80, 81’s continued to receive the full candy livery.
During the 10 years that the Candy livery was the prominent livery the following locomotives carried this scheme.
