I first became friends with Paul back when he was the editor of Sunshine Express (a publication of the ARHS Queensland Division). At the time I spent any possible time photographing trains around the Sunshine State, so soon found myself contributing many photos.
Paul would often give me updates on both the magazine and what was going on with the railways up there.
In fact, it was an early call from him on the last day of my honeymoon that saw me dragging the new wife across to Clifton for some shots of a derailed grain train. :-)

He was also the one to link me to locomotive 2142 (my favourite QR loco) his having noticed I sent photos of the unit to him after nearly every trip.
In later years he gave this website a huge amount of support, with many of his photos appearing, including one in this list.
Thank you for decades of friendship Paul, you will be very sadly missed by me, and no doubt many others in our great hobby.
